Three men who had set sail from Boynton Beach were found clinging to a floating water cooler in the Atlantic Ocean near West End in the Bahamas early Sunday.
Their 35-foot boat sank during the night while they were sleeping, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
Bruce Mandigo, who is thought to be from Lantana; Dave Mandigo, of Hilton Head Island, S.C., and Jhade Woodall of Washington, D.C., were anchored about 22 miles northwest of West End, Grand Bahama Island, Coast Guard officials said.
Early Sunday, Coast Guard search and rescue coordinators in Miami received an emergency signal and launched an HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircraft from Miami.
All three men were wearing life jackets.
