Small Business Conference Scheduled for May 11

The Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers Confederation will be holding a one day conference in collaboration with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Focusing on issues relating to the sustainability of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Bahamas, the conference will discuss small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) innovation, access to financing and SME governance and succession planning.

“Creating Sustainable Entrepreneurship” is the theme of the event to be held on May 11 at the British Colonial Hilton in Nassau.

Minister of State for Finance, Zhivargo Laing, will give a special address. Other speakers include Jerome Pinder, Manager Small Business, Commercial Financial Services, RBC Bahamas; Debra Wood, Senior Manager, Public Relations, Scotia Bank; Captain Randy Butler, CEO, Sky Bahamas; Nina Maynard, owner operator of the Corner Hotel and Darron Cash, Chairman of the Bahamas Development Bank.

Tickets for the SME Conference 2011 are $150 for members of either of the three coordinating organisations, $75 for students or $200 for non-members.
