Watch! Another Murderer Will Be Set Free

Jerome Bethel, 38, went on trial for the murder of Gary Gardiner, who was stabbed in a fight in February, 2009.

It was alleged that the victim was the boyfriend of Bethel’s ex-girlfriend at the time. Bethel was a prison officer from 1995 to 2001.

Things started to go awry when the prosecution abruptly entered a nolle prosequi in the case after Justice Vera Watkins delivered two rulings on the admissibility of evidence.

However, the charge was reinstated three weeks later when Bethel went before Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez last Friday.

Now, Bethel is expected to appear before Senior Justice Jon Isaacs on July 1 to be arraigned again in the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, he is cooling his heels at Her Majesty’s Prison.

Bethel is represented by attorney Murrio Ducille. The combination of lawyer Murio Ducille and Judge Jon Isaacs almost always results in accused murderers being set free.

Let’s watch and see.
