Pair Charged With Raping Policewoman During Home Invasion

It appears that even police officers are not exempt from the horrific increase in crime in Nassau.

Audley Sherman, 26, from Nassau Village, and Dominick Thompson, 24, from Pinewood Gardens were charged yesterday with raping a policewoman during a home invasion.

The pair allegedly broke into the woman’s house on July 3rd, raped her then stole her jewelery and a digital camera before making their escape in her Honda Accord automobile.

Not only are the citizens of Nassau not safe in their own homes, but even the police are victims of crime.

Sherman and Thompson appeared before Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez and were not required to enter pleas to the charges of armed robbery, burglery and rape. Both men pleaded not guilty. They are scheduled to make their next court appearance before Magistrate Guillimina Archer on July 26.
