Woman and Child Found Floating Harbour

The bodies of a young girl in her pajamas and a woman believed to be her mother were found floating in the Harbour at Prince George Wharf yesterday.

The bodies were discovered in water behind the new upscale shopping plaza Elizabeth on Bay at around 7:30am Tuesday.

Police have not yet determined the cause of death and the victims have not been identified. However, The Tribune newspaper reported that a well-placed source suggested it was a mother and daughter and that it may have been a murder, suicide.

The woman appeared to be in her early 30’s and the girls is estimated be around 8-10 years-old.

No visible injuries were apparent on either of the victims as they were pulled from the water in front of a small group of tourists and onlookers.

Police are investigating.
