Another PLP MP Embroiled In Controversy

Vincent Peet

An issue over $180,000 in client funds has thrown the renomination of North Andros and Berry Islands MP Vincent Peet into jeopardy. The PLP is concerned about choosing Peet as a PLP candidate for the next general election until the matter is resolved.

Peet said that he has come to an agreement with the client and has addressed the matter to the client’s satisfaction.

This is not the first time Peet has been embroiled in controversy. In 2006 accusations and suspicions arose surrounding U.S. money that was allegedly taken from Peet’s bedroom closet by his chauffeur in 2003. Peet claimed he had the quantity of U.S. money to pay for his daughter’s college tuition.

Many of the PLP candidates have been tainted by scandals, controversy and negative publicity. Shane Gibson, Obie Wilchcombe and V. Alfred Gray to name a few.
