Chairman of the Antiquities Monuments and Museums Corporation (AMMC) Courtney Strachan has announced plans to reopen Fort Montagu on Saturday, December 1.
He said the fort has been landscaped, that there are temporary bathrooms, signage is in place and there is security to ensure the safety of visitors to the fort.
During a meeting with tour operators Mr. Strachan noted that the three forts — Montagu, Charlotte and Fincastle, the Water Tower and the Queen’s Staircase (66 steps) are all a part of the AMMC’s aim to brighten and beautify the Bahamian product.
