The Alliance Francaise des Bahamas is delighted to participate in the 3rd edition of the international photo contest organised by the Fondation Alliance Française in Paris, France. The theme this year is “Les Métiers du Monde” or “Jobs Around the World”.
The Grand prize winner will win a week’s stay in Paris, round-trip airfare (economy) to Paris and an exhibition of their works in a Parisian gallery chosen by the Fondation.
The Alliance Francaise des Bahamas is organising the local contest for The Bahamas. The photos of the local winner will be submitted to Paris for the international contest. They will be selected by a local panel of judges comprised of photographers, artists and well-known personalities.
Participation in this contest is free. The contest is based on the submission of photos that illustrate the theme “Jobs Around the World”. The goal is to showcase men and women in the extraordinary diversity of jobs around the world, both in the beauty and the hardships of their daily work.
The contest will also be an opportunity to learn about unique and unusual types of work tied to traditional lifestyles and to see how they have evolved. Participants in The Bahamas must be 18 years or older to participate in this contest, not professional photographers and must register with the Alliance Française des Bahamas using the registration form found on its website http://www.afbahamas.org/ and then digitally submit two photos corresponding to the theme: “Métiers du Monde” (“Jobs Around the World”) before December 31, 2012. Photos submitted after this date will not be considered.

Photos show the winners of the International contest in Paris last year under the theme “Women of/around the World”. The winners were submitted by the Alliances Françaises in Malasia and Argentina.
