A female police officer and a man were arrested at Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) in connection with a drug seizure, police confirmed over the weekend.

They were allegedly found in possession of $64,000 worth of suspected cocaine.

A senior police officer, who wished not to be named, said the Drug Enforcement Unit acting on intelligence arrested the 27-year-old officer and the 33-year-old man of New Providence at the airport’s departure lounge around 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were unclear up to press time.

Police said they are continuing to investigate the matter.
