Another Missed Opportunity for ‘Bran’?

I was going to wait a little longer before expressing a further opinion about Mr. McCartney and his new party (the DNA), but the budget debate seems to have been another missed opportunity for the newly anointed party leader.

The annual budget debate is arguably the most important discussion in the life of a Parliament and based on press reports, Mr. McCartney, (Bran as he is known), did not unveil a single policy proposal.

Maybe the press did not report his recommendations, but as at this writing (Wednesday evening 6:43pm) the speech is not posted on his party web site either.

We know Mr. Ingraham, is a lightening rod for Mr. McCartney, but our nation deserves a little more than a war of words about Mr. Ingraham. The public deserves to know how he proposes to fix things. Besides we know Mr. Ingraham and his good and bad points by now.

We’ve witnessed the launch of his party, candidate announcements and the Budget debate and at each occasion I would have thought he would have provided a policy statement on matters such as crime, education or the national debt, just to name a few?

To paraphrase Mr. McCartney, the country deserves more than vague, empty promises designed right in time for the upcoming elections, just to win political office.  We need specifics please.

Are we at three strikes yet?  Many more missed opportunities and the glow of positive press might start to fade.
