Bahamian Potcake Amigo Lives On With Website and Video

Bahamian potcake star AMIGO, who unfortunately is no longer with us, is now a cartoon character with his very own website.  Geared primarily to children of all ages the site is an extension of Amigo’s mission in life,  ‘making the world a better place for potcakes’ and all animals, and is intended as a series dealing with tragic issues facing animals today.   The website features a song about Amigo that was recorded by Ronnie Butler and ‘Sweet Emily’ Austin.  The song was produced by Dave Mackey, from The Bahamas Weekly.

Frances Singer-Hayward, Amigo’s ‘human’ stated that she couldn’t be more thrilled at this latest phase of keeping AMIGO’S legacy alive. Since his tragic death several years ago, after a brave battle with cancer, it couldn’t be more appropriate that he be made into a cartoon character which was always my goal for him… to make him ‘The Donald Duck of Potcakes’ as it were.  A ‘mutt with a mission,’ that of raising awareness to the tragic plight of so many potcakes and all animals. The website, however, through AMIGO and his experiences,  teaches children the importance of ‘caring, helping those less fortunate and in need and ‘giving back.’

“It is my hope that through this site Amigo’s legacy will be perpetuated in a way that will keep him forever alive, even after I’m gone from this earth,” Ms Singer-Hayward said.
