Four Armed Robberies in Nassau Over Holiday Weekend

Police are investigating a rash of armed robberies that took place in Nassau over the Emancipation holiday weekend.

The first reported robbery occurred around 8:30 am on Friday 30th July, 2010. Police received information of an armed robbery at Bayview Academy.  Police responded and information received that a male clad in a black pants, a dark colored hat with a cloth about his face, entered the establishment allegedly armed with a shotgun demanding cash.  It is reported the culprit robbed an employee of the establishment of an undisclosed amount of cash and a cell phone and fled the area on foot in an unknown direction.

Later that day, around 3:05 pm on Friday, police received information of another armed robbery at Miracle Tours on East Street at Robinson Road. Police responded and received  information that a male, clad in a blue pants and a white striped shirt, allegedly armed with a handgun, entered the establishment demanding cash.  It is reported that the culprit robbed the establishment and a female patron of an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area on foot east on Robinson Road and into the Florida Court area.

On Sunday, around 4:00 am, police received information of an armed robbery at Deveaux Street off East Street.  Police responded and information received that a male while at his residence was awoken by three males one of whom was clad in a aqua shirt and a faded blue jeans pants, all of whom was allegedly armed with a handguns demanding cash.  It is reported the culprits robbed the victim of an undisclosed amount of cash, jewelry and cell phone.  The culprits fled that area on foot in an unknown direction.  Police are investigating.

Also on Sunday, police received information of an armed robbery at Texaco Service Station, East and Soldier Roads.  Police responded and information received that a male clad in a black hooded jacket, yellow shirt and a blue jeans pants entered the establishment.  Once inside, the culprit pulled a masked over his face produced a handgun and demanded cash.  The culprit robbed the establishment of an undetermined amount of cash and fled the area traveling north on East Street in a green Honda Accord L/P 189235.  Police later recovered vehicle at the rear of Bamboo Shack, Soldier Road. Policed are questioning two males in connection with this incident.

Police investigations continue.
