Hope Town residents protested yeasterday criticizing the government for “overturning the town council’s unanimous opinion” to oppose a planned 24-room hotel and 88 villa development.
Jeremy Sweeting, Hope Town chief councillor, said council members have no interest in being “puppets” for the prime minister and his ministers.
The Hope Town District Council unanimously passed a resolution to oppose the Elbow Cay Club and Marina development, claiming it was too big and inconsistent with the character and culture of Hope Town.
