No Lessons Learned Since Straw Market Fire

In the aftermath of the devastating fire that destroyed the Betty K building and others along East Bay Street on Monday, downtown businesspersons have little good to say about the competence of Bahamian firefighters.

Many have told the Tribune newspaper that a faster response time and better organisation is needed to prevent such significant damage in the future.

One would think that was determined over ten years ago in the fire that burned down Nassau’s notorious straw market.
