Cable & Wireless To Improve BTC’s Customer Service

Cable & Wireless Communications will significantly extend the number of stores selling BTC services, offering customers more convenience and better service than ever before.

If Cable & Wireless Communications’ acquisition of shares in the Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC) is successful it plans to develop up to 50 shops selling telecom services across the islands. The shops will include new stores, refurbishments of existing shops and opportunities for other businesses to launch concessions.

The store development programme should take three years to develop up to 50 shops selling telecom services across the islands. The shops will include new stores, refurbishments of existing shops and opportunities for other businesses to launch concessions. Cable & Wireless Communications will be seeking to create a new retail experience where customers can try new technology, view and purchase and access a range of services on a par with mainland USA.

BTC will also provide more locations and convenient ways for customers to top up their mobile phones. In turn, more small businesses and individual sellers will be able to sell top up in order to make it easier for BTC customers to keep their phone in credit, offering the small business man the opportunity to participate in the business of BTC and enhance their income potential.

Geoff Houston, head of the company’s transition team, commented:
“The exact detail of the plan will be finalised after consultation with BTC colleagues and those working in existing retail channels. However, the customer is key to us and providing them with more places to get new handsets and accessories, pay bills, change contract and top up is high on our priority list. The new and refurbished stores will give BTC customers the fantastic service and experience they deserve and that Cable & Wireless Communications are committed to provide.”
