Andros Business Outlook Set For May

The second annual Andros Business Outlook has been scheduled for May 11 at Nicholl’s Town, North Andros under the theme ‘The Andros Assignment: Innovate, Invest & Produce’.  Making the announcement was Joan Albury, president of The Counsellors Ltd., organizers of the event.

With Edison M. Key, executive chairman of the Bahamas Agricultural and Industrial Corporation (BAIC), leading as keynote speaker, the Business Outlook has brought together a cadre of speakers, who are directly connected to the novel economic and social developments taking place on Andros. Mrs. Albury reports that local support for the event is growing with BAIC’s Andros office, the Bahamas Tourism Office in Andros, and the Andros chambers of commerce lending support as they did last year.

Presenters confirmed for Andros Business Outlook 2011 include: Edison Key, chairman, BAIC, (the keynote speaker); Algernon Cargill, director, National Insurance Board; Paul Crevello, Ph.D., CEO, Bahamas Petroleum Company Plc.; Frank Lam, agri-business specialist, IICA, Miami; Benjamin Pratt, senior manager, Ministry of Tourism, Andros Island; Eleanor Phillips, director, Northern Caribbean Programme, The Nature Conservancy; Capt. Randy Butler, president, SkyBahamas; Johan Rostad, president, Cariluxe (Bahamas) Ltd; Edmund Rahming, president, South Andros Chamber of Commerce; Leroy Sumner, treasurer, T&SWCCU, and past president, Bahamas Cooperative League; and Zendal Forbes, educator.
