Oil Exploration Company Moves Forward In The Bahamas

Bahamas Petroleum has hired oil services company Fugro to carry out a high resolution seabed survey across its licence area.

Bahamas – an AIM-listed oil firm – is currently working through the early stages of exploration over five petroleum exploration licences, covering 15,676 square kilometres, in the territorial waters of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas.

It has already completed a successful 2D seismic programme, which confirmed the prospectivity of the area by finding multiple structures over a larger than expected area. Earlier this month it hired CGGVeritas for a 3D seismic survey over 3,000 square miles of the southern licence areas.
