Father of Seven Shot To Death

A shopowner and father of seven became the latest victim of Nassau’ violent crime spree as he was shot to death during an armed robbery on Saturday.

The country’s 92nd homicide occurred shortly before 6:00pm on Saturday when a man armed with a handgun entered Oltime Convenience Store, on Palm Tree Avenue.

The victim, a father of seven identified by the Tribune as 53-year-old Alinstant Oltime, was complying with the robber’s request for money, when he was shot in the neck.

When EMS personnel arrived on the scene Mr Oltime was already dead.

Mr Oltime is said to be a prominent member of the Haitian Bahamian business community.

The gunman, described as being around 5-feet 10-inches tall with a slim build and a dark complexion, escaped on foot. Police are asking anyone with information on this crime to contact Police Emergency at 911, 919 or Crime Stoppers at 328-TIPS.
