Tourist Injured In Collision With Taxi

An American tourist was seriously injured after the moped he was driving collided with a taxibus at the intersection of Blake Road and John F. Kennedy Drive yesterday.

According to police, up to last night the tourist was in critical condition at Doctors Hospital.

Police identified the injured man as David Russell Johnson, 55, of Minnesota. He is a guest of the Sheraton Nassau Beach Resort on Cable Beach.

According to police reports, Johnson was traveling south on Blake Road onto John F. Kennedy Drive when he ran through the stop sign and collided with the taxibus.

Police said the taxibus was traveling east on John F. Kennedy Drive at the time of the accident. The accident took place around 1:30 p.m. Police said there were only minor injuries to the taxibus and the driver was not injured.
