Police are investigating the apparent drowning of a Bahamian fisherman in waters near Potter’s Cay Dock yesterday morning.
Superintendent Paul Rolle, officer-in-charge of the Central Detective Unit (CDU), said the fisherman was found floating in waters beneath a fishing vessel that was moored to the dock.
Rolle said the man was diving for conch when he apparently drowned.
“He brought up one set (of conch) and went back down and didn’t resurface,” Rolle said on the scene.
Pointing toward the water, Rolle said, “Persons went in search of him and this is where they found him.
