The government hopes to table the value-added tax (VAT) bill this month, according to Minister of State for Finance Michael Halkitis, who added that the delay in the bill will have little impact on the introduction of VAT.
He said changes to the bill and the new tariff schedule are still being worked on after consultation with the public.
Halkitis recently said the bill needed to be tabled in the House of Assembly by mid-February to be in line with the July 1 implementation date.
However, he told The Nassau Guardian on Thursday that the final details are still being worked on.
