Bahamas Deputy Chief of Mission for the High Commission of The Bahamas, Canada, Roselyn Horton, recently paid a courtesy call on president of the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI), Dr. Robert W. Robertson.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss the ways in which the High Commission assists Bahamian students studying in Canada. Since 2009, BTVI has been sending students to Canada on study abroad programs, via the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP) scholarships.

Also during the meeting, Dr. Robertson shared BTVI’s plans to strengthen ties with Canadian colleges. Two BTVI students are set to head to Canada in January 2017. They include Information Technology major, Dion Mackey, who will study at Fanshawe College and Electronics Engineering major, Piaget Cleare, who will be attending Holland College.
