Woman Slaughtered in South Beach

The Bahamas murder count increased again yesterday morning when a woman was stabbed and slaughtered in what police are calling a domestic violence dispute.

This would be the 38th murder so far this year in the former island paradise.

The yet to be indentified woman, believed to be in her 40s, was found lying on her back with multiple stab wounds in an apartment in South Beach.  A 45 year-old man was picked up for questioning.

This is the seventh female to be murdered in The Bahamas so far this year, possibly making it the highest per-capita rate for the murder of women anywhere in the world.

Violence against women is everywhere in The Bahamas, where females are treated as second class citizens, denied the basic constitutional rights that men recieve.

“It is like having the Taliban as government,” an unidentified woman told reporters.

“If tourists only knew the way women suffer in the Bahamas, they might consider another destination for their vacation,” she added
