Murderer Gets Five Year Manslaughter Sentence

The man who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the 2007 death of 19-year-old Felix Mitchell, Jr. was sentenced to five years in prison yesterday.

Thirty-seven year old Rodner Timothee was charged on January 10, 2007 for causing Mitchell’s death.

Police say on January 8, 2007, Mitchell, who resided in Martin Town, Eight Mile Rock,was reportedly struck over the head with a blunt object in front of the L.E.M. Plaza in Martin Town, Eight Mile Rock.

Reports are that the teen collapsed and died while trying to make his way to his home which was a short distance away.

Yesterday, Senior Justice Hartman Longley ruled that Timothee, in accordance with his plea agreement, will serve five years.
