The i-STAT System is an advanced, handheld, diagnostic tool that provides real-time lab-quality results within minutes to accelerate the patient care decision-making process. It represents the next step in the evolution of point-of-care lab testing.
Ideal for the family island and local clinics, the i-STAT System features single-use disposable test cartridges that can be used throughout hospitals, clinics, and doctors’ offices to perform a broad menu of tests including cardiac markers, blood gas, chemistry and coagulation in just minutes, enabling faster diagnosis. With results right by the patient’s side, this accelerates patient care decision-making by reducing the time to get needed information to the clinicians.
The i-STAT System is currently in use in one out of every three U.S. hospitals and over 500 emergency departments. Introduced to the Department of Public Health, i-STAT training was conducted recently at the South Beach Clinic.
