A woman is dead following a fatal car accident with a police cruiser Saturday evening.
At approximately 4:40 p.m. on September 10, a police vehicle with registration number 232720 collided with a silver 2000 Mitsubishi Lancer with license number 17437.
The deadly accident took place at the intersection of South Mall Drive and East Atlantic Drive in the Bahamia area.
The woman who has not been officially identified was transported by ambulance to the Rand Memorial Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries around 10:00 p.m. Saturday.
The deceased was the only person in her vehicle, but the police cruiser was driven by a male driver who was accompanied by a female officer.
Both officers were transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital.
The female driver’s death marks Grand Bahama’s sixth traffic fatality for the year.
Police are continuing their investigation into the fatality.
