Nassau Chamber Ensemble To Perform

The Nassau Chamber Ensemble is pleased to present its third concert, an afternoon of delightful Baroque, Classical and Romantic chamber music to be held at the Bahamas Historical Society on Sunday, 10th June 2012 at 3:00 p.m.

The Nassau Chamber Ensemble is a 12-member string ensemble comprised of 6 violins, 2 violas, 2 cellos, 1 double bass and a harpsichord. The ensemble was co-founded by Noël Thompson and Hélène Péloquin in September 2010. Their objective was to bring together a group of like-minded musicians interested in performing beautiful instrumental chamber works. Having had two successful concerts under their belts, the ensemble is pleased to present its third concert.

The programme consists of works from Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 “Erocia” (Excerpts), Rachmaninoff’s Prelude Op. 3 No. 2, Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in G major, Paganini’s Variations on a Theme 18 & 24, and Telemann’s Allegro from Sonata No. 1 – just to name a few. This performance would also feature Vivaldi’s Double Cello Concerto for Strings & Continuo in G minor RV 531 featuring Nassau Chamber Ensemble cellists as soloists.

As seating is limited, the managing director of NCE has asked that those persons interested in attending this concert, purchase tickets in advance of the date of the concert.  Tickets can be purchased at the National Art Gallery from Monday, 28th May: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays, and 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. Sundays.
