The revelation on the Millers’ outstanding BEC bill came not long after Miller accused BEC union leaders of being “blood suckers” who are only worried about filling their pockets, even if it comes at the cost of the Bahamian people.
Leslie Miller has no moral authority left to criticize individuals or businesses for not paying their BEC bills. He also has no moral authority left to criticize the unions and workers at BEC for spending too much.
In one of the most outrageous incidents of a politician’s hypocrisy, it has been discovered that BEC Chairman Leslie Miller, who rails against hotels and businesses who owe BEC money, owes over $200,000 to the corporation himself.
Talk about a “friends & family discount”… if you know the right people at BEC, you can skip out on paying your electricity bills, while others get their power shut off if they are even 1-day late.
And so yet again we find ourselves facing another long, hot summer, with nothing more concrete standing between us and the threat of frequent blackouts than the word of a politician.
People are already struggling to keep their lights on. Now the cost will go up 15% each billing cycle. This will kill so many people and create even more power disconnections.
Today, BEC chairman Leslie Miller is the Man of the Hour, and VAT is the vehicle that is going to send all of us — country included — to our economic graves.
