Minister of the Bahamas, Lynden Oscar Pindling was elected in 1967 and
served for 25 years. During his tenure the Bahamas declared its independence
from Britain. Pindling’s party was eventually brought down by allegations of
corruption and accepting bribes from drug smugglers.
