The Art of Giving Relocates Downtown

Culture

The Art of Giving, one of Freeport’s premiere boutique gift shops, has moved to #9 Seventeen Plaza, downtown. Conveniently located immediately across from the Post Office, the shop is a licensed vendor of Starbucks coffees, teas, and iced blended drinks and carries a distinctive line of gifts and fashionable décor for the home.
“We’re excited about our new location. We feel that Seventeen Plaza is the ideal place to be,”stated store manager, Michele Coburn. “Now that we are strategically located in the heart of downtown, amidst stores, banks, offices, and hospital, we’re able to offer our services to a variety of customers who found it inconvenient to visit us at our previous International Bazaar location.”
The relocated business is quickly creating a buzz as established customers stop in for their favorites and a new stream of clientele are drawn to the bright orange daisies that beckon them in. “We want to service not only the downtown area, but Grand Bahama as a whole. By combining an internationally recognized brand, Starbucks, with a collection of designer specified gifts, books and home goods The Art of Giving offers a unique experience to the island of Grand Bahama,” Coburn added.
Seven smiling employees are eager to acquaint all customers in the shop’s concept of “the art of giving.” At the full service Starbucks Coffee Bar, baristas offers up a vast selection of choices – from delicate to lively, rich and bold, and hot or cold. If you’re not a coffee lover, they also serve a variety of delectable teas, as well as iced blended beverages. Treat yourself to savory beef or chicken patties, spinach & cheese pastry and calzones or satisfy your sweet tooth with a slice of freshly baked lemon loaf, apple strudel, cinnamon rolls, oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies, or danish. Indoor and outdoor covered seating, complete with Wi-Fi, is available to all patrons.
As a reward to customers, The Art of Giving offers a Frequent Sippers Card. Receive a punch with the purchase of a beverage. Upon collecting nine card punches, the tenth drink is free. Shoppers can keep abreast of drink specials and new incoming shop merchandise by following postings at facebook.com/theartofgivingfreeport.
With Fathers’ Day, Teachers’ Appreciation and graduations just around the corner, The Art of Giving offers innovative and appealing merchandise. There are ornate desk accessories, golf trays, bar sets, flask, can coolers, or mini charcoal grills for dad, as well as the ever-popular specialty Backgammon board games. Shower your favorite teacher with scented candles, soaps and lotions. Also in stock are an extensive offering of cookbooks, beautifully illustrated coffee table books, Little Golden Books for children, kitchen towels, wall hangings, coffee pots, cups, pillows, baskets, colorful glasses, aprons, picture frames, humorous signs and an exclusive line of well-priced greeting cards and mini gift books. Complimentary gift wrap is available with your choice of colored tissue and The Art of Giving’s signature white pin striped bag.
A visit to the store still provides the unique opportunity to view an exclusive collection of historical photographs. This private collection documents the development of Grand Bahama Island beginning with the Abaco Lumber Company and Pine Ridge, through the establishment of Freeport, and into the 1960’s.
“We wish to give a special thank you to everyone who has supported The Art of Giving through our relocation and look forward to providing superior service and distinctive wares throughout the coming years,” stated Coburn.
