Busy Day For Minister of Foreign Affairs

The Honorary Consul (Designate) of Slovakia, Michal Lazar, presented Letters of Appointment and Commission to Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration the Hon Brent Symonette, at Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, October 25, 2010.  Also present for the meeting were senior officials of the Ministry. There was dialogue on the state of the economy of both countries, in the face of a global recession; tourism and business opportunities; and the ease with which Bahamians can travel to Schengen countries since the abolition of visas. The Honorary Consul (Designate) of Switzerland Michelle Degoumois, presented Letters of Appointment and Commission to Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration the Hon Brent Symonette at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, October 25, 2010. Also present at the meeting were senior officials of the Ministry.  Discussions focused on a number of topics of mutual interests; and the Bahamas’ application for membership into the World Trade Organisation (WTO), which is in Geneva, Switzerland.
