NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Family Medicine Center (FMC) is pleased to announce the launch of its new Memory Clinic, a specialized service dedicated to helping patients and families better understand memory concerns, cognitive changes, and conditions such as dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
The Memory Clinic is led by Dr. Sanita Belgrave-King, Geriatrician, who brings extensive expertise in the care of older adults and the evaluation and management of memory-related conditions.
Memory changes can be concerning for both patients and their loved ones. While some changes may be a normal part of aging, others may signal an underlying condition that deserves medical attention. The Memory Clinic at Family Medicine Center was established to provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing support in a compassionate and patient-centered environment.
“As our population ages, the need for specialized memory care continues to grow. The launch of the Memory Clinic reflects our commitment to providing comprehensive, compassionate care for patients and families facing memory-related concerns. We are proud to offer this important service under the leadership of Dr. Sanita Belgrave-King and to help patients receive the answers, support, and guidance they deserve,” said Dr. Graham Cates, Medical Director and Founder of Family Medicine Center.

Dr. Belgrave-King emphasized the importance of early evaluation and support for both patients and families. “Many individuals and families struggle with uncertainty when memory changes begin to occur. Our goal is to provide answers, guidance, and support while helping patients maintain the highest possible quality of life.”
Services offered through the Memory Clinic include:
- Comprehensive memory and cognitive assessments
- Evaluation of memory concerns and cognitive changes
- Dementia diagnosis and management
- Alzheimer’s disease evaluation and treatment planning
- Medication review and management
- Non-pharmacological treatment strategies
- Family and caregiver education and support
- Personalized care plans and follow-up services
The clinic recognizes that memory-related conditions affect not only the individual but also family members and caregivers. As part of its comprehensive approach, the Memory Clinic provides resources and guidance to help families better understand and navigate the challenges associated with cognitive decline.
In addition to clinical services, Family Medicine Center has developed a new online Memory Clinic Resource Center featuring educational articles, videos, frequently asked questions, and a memory screening questionnaire designed to help patients and families learn more about memory health and available support services.
Individuals who have concerns about memory loss, cognitive changes, or changes in daily functioning are encouraged to seek evaluation. Early assessment can help identify treatable causes of memory difficulties, provide clarity, and connect patients with appropriate care and resources.
